With an increase of the young working population migrating outside of Kerala, many old-aged people have to deal with a dwindling community and social isolation. The exclusion and marginalization they face by becoming increasingly isolated and dependent on others for their needs becomes magnified. AURA strives to help older adults improve their well-being by trying to promote a balance of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health through self-help groups. By facilitating their group formation and weekly meetings AURA to help build a sense of community for them while also promoting and encouraging them to find empathy and resources that otherwise may not be made available to them.
